Learn to surf in a weekend

Thurso EastSurfariScotland has the experience and equipment to chase swell on the three coasts of Scotland.

Our lessons are based on:

  • BSA qualification & standards
  • Twelve years of global surf travel & forecasting knowledge
  • Six years experience teaching people of all ages to surf.

euanOur equipment is selected to offer optimum safety and performance: wetsuits are brand new every season for maximum warmth and comfort. The boards themselves are fat, floaty and incredibly uncool - but don't hurt if they hit your head and are designed specifically for beginners.

We get you to your feet and keep you there.

With other surf schools, the lesson usually seems to end just as you are getting the hang of surfing. Where and when will you go surfing again? Will you remember how to do it?

Even with our most basic package, you stop for lunch and come back refreshed for another go. We also offer aftercare advice on wetsuits, boards, locations - as well as info & hints to take you to the next level.

Scotland has long been recognised as a world class surf destination, offering quality waves for anyone brave enough to pull on a wetsuit and have a go. The quiet and isolation of our country means that learning conditions are ideal: we have none of the aggro, overcrowding and hassle of more popular or stereotypical surf zones. The Scottish water warms up in the summer, leaving the locals with quality waves and a peaceful, wave-rich environment.

Our weekend tours run to Mull of Kintyre, Caithness, or the East Coast - wherever the surf is best for the weekend in question.
